Skin condition

Strictly speaking, I am mixing up skin conditions and skin types here. I just didn't want to create too much chaos amongst my menu items. But for the record: I know.

How to read the menu items:

  1. There is no "normal skin" category - please just scroll in the "Face" category under the corresponding menu item. You are among the lucky ones who basically have a free choice :-)
  2. There is no "mature skin" category, this is intentional. Experience has shown that "mature skin" is either dry (see the corresponding menu item) or combination skin (ditto).
  3. I have separated the categories "Oily Skin" / "Acne" / "Teenage Skin". Oily skin is not necessarily blemish-prone, and retinol should not necessarily be used on teenagers.
  4. Not every product can be clearly assigned to a category. And some will find "their" product in a category they wouldn't even associate themselves with. But that's okay. If it works, everything is fine!
  5. Make-up, SPF and body care products are not divided into these categories, this is only about the face.

Quick notes on actives:

  • Hyperpigmentation: Look for products containing vitamin C
  • Anti-aging: Look for retinol and plant-based alternatives (moth bean, bakuchi seeds)
  • Blemish-prone skin: Retinol is also the active ingredient of choice, as are all kinds of acids
  • Combination skin/Acne/Large pores: Niacinamide have proven to be very helpful for many with these skin conditions
  • Rosacea: feel free to read my blog post about it; keep your routine simple. And: no skincare can "cure" rosacea. It can only help keep the skin reasonably calm.
